MICK JAGGER PICKS HIS MODERN ROCK MUSIC SAVIOURS, AND THEY’RE SURE TO SURPRISE YOU

THE ROLLING STONES LEGEND HAS CREDITED AN OPINION DIVIDING PAIR OF POP-PUNK SINGERS WITH KEEPING THE SPIRIT OF ROCK MUSIC ALIVE

Speaking with Swedish radio station P4, the Rolling Stones singer, hip shaker and all round music legend has bemoaned the lack of rockers in recent years. However, two artists have caught his attention: Machine Gun Kelly and Yungblud.

Jagger stated that “In rock music you need energy and there have not been a lot of new rock singers around. Now there are a few. You have Yungblud and Machine Gun Kelly. That kind of post-punk vibe makes me thing there is still a bit of life in rock and roll”… Someone get Mick an Airbourne CD ASAP!

Yungblud has previously name-checked Jagger as a big inspiration and a role model, and stated that the longevity of The Rolling Stones career is what he strives to also achieve, hoping to be “sexy as fuck” like Mick after a long career.

The Rolling Stones have a long history of championing up-and-coming acts of the decades, and regularly recruit both established and lesser known/emerging acts to open their shows. Some of the acts given the opportunity to open for them include The 1975, Ed Sheeran, Kayne West, Maneskin and Black Pumas, amongst many others.

The band will be heading out on their 60th anniversary tour of Europe this summer, but Jagger has stated that they are still showing no signs of slowing down. He told P4 radio that “I am not planning it to be the last tour. I love being on tour,” which is great news for rock fans around the globe.

He went on to say “I don’t think I would do it if I did not enjoy it. I enjoy going out there on stage and doing my stuff. That is what I do. I want everyone to enjoy themselves and forget the troubles in their lives for a couple of hours and just chill out and have a great afternoon and evening.”

So there we have it. The Rolling Stones won’t be stopping any time soon, and we have our fingers crossed and will be praying to the gods of rock and roll that Mick considers offering the opening slot to one of the many incredible up and coming rock bands that the world has to offer. Away from the mainstream, there is an incredible wealth of rock bands that are ready and waiting to fill the void when these legends face their final curtain, and I for one just hope they get to opportunities to get their hands on the torch that will eventually need to be passed down.
