MACHINE HEAD RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘CHØKE ØN THE ASHES ØF YØUR HATE’ AND ANNOUNCE NEW ANIME INSPIRED ALBUM

ROBB FLYNN AND CO HAVE ANNOUNCED THEIR RETURN WITH THEIR “HEAVIEST” ALBUM IN YEARS

Machine Head have announced released their new single CHØKE ØN THE ASHES ØF YØUR HATE, the first from their new album ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN.

The 13-track album is due to be released on August 26th 2022, and according to the band it’s a concept album based around two rival characters, Ares and Eros, both of whom go on a killing spree as a result of losing someone close to them. The band have said that the album is “set in a decimated futuristic wasteland where the sky is stained crimson red.” Certainly sounds intriguing to us!

Frontman Robb Flynn says the album was influenced by the Japanese anime series Attack On Titan, which he was introduced to by his teenage sons.

According to Flynn, the album’s concept was loosely inspired by the series in the sense that in the storyline, there is no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ guy – both characters believe they’re doing the right thing as it applies to their being. But in true metal fashion, both are committing acts of pure atrocity and evil.

The band are claiming that it’s the heaviest they’ve sounded for a long while, and judging from the first single CHØKE ØN THE ASHES ØF YØUR HATE, they’re absolutely right. If the rest of the album continues in a similar manor to the aforementioned first single, then ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN could be our favourite Machine Head album since the metal colossus that is The Blackening.

The album will be available on 12 different vinyl formats, a deluxe vinyl box set with bonus tracks, CD in assorted types of packaging and multi-coloured cassette options.
